So welcome to another episode of Round the Block Talk - Marking Advice that Works. I'm your host Los and thank you for joining us. Today's discussion is going to be about marketing, what is it and why is it important? So what is marketing? Have you ever heard of "word of mouth" marketing? Has anyone recommended a product or a service to you and you went and purchased it? Word of mouth marketing is when someone has bought from you, either your services or your products, and they recommend you to someone else. That other person then comes to you and buys from you. Word of mouth marketing is the absolute most effective way of selling your services and products because people will often take the advice of those that they trust, and that is your friends and family.

So marketing in general is the next best thing to word of mouth. It tries to copy the effectiveness and the power of word of mouth marketing. You ever heard of the expression the squeaking wheel gets the oil? Well the squeak is your marketing. If you're a longtime business owner or barely starting one, you need to tell the world that you exist and the way you do that is through marketing. Through marketing campaigns and efforts that tell the world that you're there, that you're offering wonderful services and products. It's the best way to get the word out. Marketing helps get you sales. You actually make money from it because it makes it easier to sell the products and services that you offer. It shows perspective buyers what you have to offer when you implement marketing. It helps people give you money for it.

Another reason for marketing is that it helps to build trust. It shows that you are an expert in your industry or field. Good marketing allows people who buy from you to share who you are with their friends, whether it's your video, it's your website, it's your Facebook page or anything else. Your marketing allows your customers and fans to share with the world who you are and it helps build your sales organically. How do you go about making good marketing? Well, you can call us and we can help you. We can train you. Or you can go and do some research. Start to look at what is good marketing for your business, whether you're a restaurant, whether you're a gym, a school, a nonprofit organization or any other type of business. Marketing will help you increase your sales, increase your brand awareness and let the people know that you're there to serve them.
